Folk in Broke
2010

HISTORY
The Broke Fordwich region of the Hunter Valley has been producing
wines since 1830.
With the added interest of first class restaurants and
accommodation combined with boutique and gourmet outlets the
region offers visitors a relaxed and fulfilling experience.
To add to this experience "Folk in Broke" is a wonderful festival
providing great music and fabulous entertainment in a tremendous
venue - NIGHTINGALE VINEYARD.
Award winning wines, accommodation and food makes this venue
the appropriate place to add spectacular music and entertainment
Paul & Gail Nightingale have been involved in working with the
community at all levels and have been generous sponsors of many
community based activities
The vineyard managers, Terry and Joan have had a long
association with music - Terry being an accomplished keyboard
player has performed in many concerts, festivals and elite
functions.
There’s lots of opportunities for visitors to participate in this year’s
festival so come prepared to join in. Whether it’s dancing along
with Sambafrog or playing along in one of the open jam sessions,
there’s something for everyone at any level.
Check out our great Workshop Program & Master classes where
you can learn to play an instrument as a beginner or learn some
new tips and skills if you’re an experienced player.
There are also workshops for singers and songwriters too.
If you’re keen to perform simply place your name on the Sunday
morning blackboard at the festival café for a spot.
And if you enjoy simply sitting back and taking it all in, you'll love the
space, place and food available along with a festival bar to quench
your thirst. There's also the fun of the market stalls too.
To kick it all off there is the Friday Night opening event - 'The Dinner
Cabaret’

'Tyburn Fayre', winner of the 2005
